Spent some time working on the '62 Spitfire4 to ensure reliable roadworthiness...or at the least, as reliable as Lucas and Triumph will allow. Having put a little over 200mi on the car during Monterey Car Week, I'm confident she'll do fine, but the prep work never ends.
On the list of to-do's:
- Change & fill transmission fluid
- Change and fill differential fluid
- Check trunnions and suspension for abnormal wear
- Bleed, check and fill brake and clutch fluids
- Check for faulty grounds - yes, this is a thing. Thank you, Lucas!
- Source scissor jack and tools, because changing a tire without them is hard.
- Always check oil (even though it has less than 300mi on the current fluid)
- Check tire pressure and lug nuts
- Check fuel lines and in-line fuel filters
Eighteen days and counting.
Happy to help Tyson. Just had successful HIFU prostate surgery at UCSF.
Keep up the great work Tyson!
