Why I Drive

Pinned update

For me, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is about much more than classic cars. Yes, it is an opportunity to celebrate beautiful machines, enjoy winding roads, and spend a day surrounded by people who share a passion for vehicles built in another era. But the reason I choose to drive and host this event goes much deeper. Like many people, my life has been touched by the struggles that often happen quietly behind closed doors. I have seen family members face the devastating impacts of mental health challenges and substance abuse, and I have experienced the loss and pain that can come with those battles. Those experiences have shaped how I view the importance of conversations, community, and showing up for one another. As men, we are often taught to keep moving forward, to stay strong, and to handle things on our own. But behind that image, many men are carrying struggles they rarely talk about. Whether it is mental health, isolation, or physical health concerns, too many men suffer in silence. That is why the mission behind the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive matters. It brings people together through something we love — classic cars — while creating an opportunity to talk about issues that affect men everywhere, including prostate cancer research, prevention, and men’s mental health. Hosting the DGD in Hamilton is my way of helping create that conversation locally. It is about building a community where people can connect, share stories, and remind each other that asking for help is not a weakness. The cars may be what bring us together, but the people and the purpose are what make the day meaningful. So whether you are behind the wheel of a classic car, joining as a passenger, or simply supporting the cause, I hope you will be part of the journey. Because sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply show up — for ourselves, and for each other.

I'm Driving for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive

Default Blog

On Sunday the 27th of September 2026, I'm driving in The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my shoes, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
